Terms of use

Know the boundaries. Build your routine.

SafeSprout helps families agree on screen time. Please understand device permissions, parent PIN responsibilities and the scope of system management before using it.

Service and scope

SafeSprout is provided by The SafeSprout developer as an on-device screen time tool for iPhone and iPad. It configures daily allowances for selected apps or categories and submits selected protection requests to the system. This version has no remote management, cloud accounts or device sync.

Read these terms and the privacy policy, and decide whether to use the app after understanding its features and limits.

Authorized use

Use the app only on devices you own, supervise or are authorized to manage. An authorized adult should grant system permission. Do not use the app to invade privacy, exercise unauthorized control or violate applicable law.

The app does not replace family communication or a guardian’s responsibilities. Agree on screen time together rather than relying solely on technical restrictions.

System capabilities and limits

Time events, shielding and device protections depend on Apple frameworks, permission, OS version and device support. System callbacks may be delayed, and some system apps or features may be exempt. Successfully submitting a request does not confirm that the restriction took effect.

The device owner can revoke permission; removal or signing out of iCloud may also end management. The app does not guarantee prevention of every bypass or uninstall, or uninterrupted enforcement. It does not provide live usage statistics or a second-by-second countdown. Check the actual effect on the device.

Parent PIN and device security

Keep the six-digit parent PIN safe. There is no cloud recovery, universal PIN or one-tap reset. Keychain items may remain after removal, so reinstalling is not guaranteed to reset it.

Any face or fingerprint enrolled on the device may pass Face ID / Touch ID verification. Leave quick verification off if the child has enrolled biometrics. Revoking Screen Time authorization can end management but cannot recover the PIN.

Local data and stopping use

Rules and settings are primarily stored on the device. The app provides no cloud backup or cross-device recovery. Device failure, removal or system restoration may change or remove local data.

Turn protection off or revoke authorization before stopping use, then remove rules or the app as needed. See the privacy policy for data handling and Keychain retention.

Content and intellectual property

Do not copy, impersonate the brand or use the content in misleading promotions without authorization or a legal right. Updates, legal rights and contact

Changes to features or these terms will be described in the relevant version or on this page. You can stop using the app and withdraw management as described above. These terms do not exclude or limit rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
